Our supreme purpose in life is to experience life for personal growth - spiritual growth. Should this become our primary goal in life it would stand to reason that if everyone becomes truly spiritual than there is no need to spiritualize anyone else. But we are far from being there, that is only a distant reality - presently the planetary citizenry needs help. There is a saving grace though - all the information we need today for expanded awareness of the necessity of spiritual values is within our grasp. Our revelation has virtually placed these values in a perspective that reaches well into to our spiritual core.

Secularism in the last century has far outpaced our progress in religion, thereby upsetting the social balance necessary for harmonious growth in the future - a planetary growth devoid of the numerous socially insane problems we face today. From my viewpoint the best way to implement this social balance between the secular and spiritual orders, at least as a starting point, is to display our spirituality to others by “going about doing good”. Now, as mentioned above our primary aim is to spiritualize ourselves, it would logically follow then that our secondary objective should be to expose others to those teachings that have elevated our own appreciation of certain exalted values manifested in human behavior - love, mercy and ministry. This exposure over time has a cumulative effect, creating a contagion of tolerance among the earths inhabitants, which in the long run will immeasurably contribute to that harmonious balance so essential for human life to proceed to its spiritual destiny. These divine attributes were exemplified in the life of Jesus and later presented to us in unadulterated form through His teachings presented in the Urantia book - teachings that were not intended to be admixed or compromised with lesser ideologies. Therefore, my feeling along with our staff, who have remained together for over ten years now, is to expose these teachings to anyone ready to accept them, and that by itself facilitates spiritual growth.

Apart from the values (spiritual meanings) we have all come to recognize, the revelation presents information of a generalized sense that for some believers is difficult to accept. Two beliefs come to mind. One is the concept of reincarnation another is the idea of the Virgin birth. Both of these involve deep considerations, being inculcations of life long beliefs that are not easily overcome. There are undoubtedly other ideas that some may not readily adjust to within their personal lives, but all of these have little effect on the spiritual advancement of the individual and will be resolved in time; what we don’t want to do is to compromise the overall teachings (the midwayers have left us with a mandate to leave the revelation inviolate). We have special instructions forbidding us from contaminating the revelation which I construe to mean admixing the U.B. teachings with philosophers not aligned with Michaels life and those teachings presented in the Book. When a whole system of religious ideologies, ideals and philosophies are antithetical to those of our universe sovereign, upon exposure to the reality if the Urantia teachings, one is suddenly confronted with a new choice - a decision of choice so important that in the case of Satan, Lucifer and many others, their entire existence was forever altered. To accept other than Jesus’ way of life is to compromise his teachings, and this is done when one defends his contrary religious beliefs over those of the Creator Son. Such teachings would be considered incomplete, immature, and ill-conceived, especially if they were produced after Michaels appearance on earth.

We must assume that since our destiny is known as concerns our planetary outcome, and since we have the sanctions of the Ancients of Days to publish the book it essentially assures us that the revelation will eventually displace all other oppositional philosophical and religious dogmas. For have we not been told that we will eventually be a unified world with one language, one religion, and one monetary system, accompanied by a harmonious social order? We know our members are setting the example for a future utopia. But like the Garden of Eden that took three generations (83 yrs.) just to build only 1/3 of it, many of its builders never lived to experience the fruition of their work, and so it will be with those who today are genuinely contributing to the Supreme Being by going about expressing good will; we are preparing the way for a future Garden of Eden that will be beyond our experience. Our satisfaction should come only from our commitment to do today the work that is expected of us - our work for the Father in spiritually advancing the siritual universe of His Son. To prevent our progeny from experiencing the pitfalls of a spiritually degenerating world, their future security lies with our efforts to stabilize the current social conditions through the exercise of our free will choice to present to the world the spiritual examples we’ve been taught.

I can only imagine the frustrations of the very angels that surround us, the midwayers and others close to us - the angels of progress, the angels of the churches and the angels of peace - what are they to think at the waywardness of the spiritual progress of our backward world. Let us stick to the true teachings of our Creator Son and put forth an effort to advance this expansion (Urantia book) of his last revelation some 2000 years ago. As our great book states, “in the evolutionary domains materialism has a head start, but the spirit is striving to catch up.” Isn’t it about time we started seriously catching up?
Very soon, if we are to preserve some semblance of balance between the material and spiritual domains, society has to seriously consider the goal of evolution as present below.

OUR GOAL
“The goal of the evolutionary universes is the subjugation of energy-matter by mind, the co-ordination of mind with spirit, and all of this by virtue of the creative and unifying presence of personality”. (Pg. 1275) Our job is to present to the world a revelation by living the revelation and then informing others of the revelation. If we are ever to leave a spiritual heritage to succeeding generations it must start with each individual who embraces these teachings. None of us knows what’s in store for the revelation in the near future, but the time is approaching for a more rapid spread of the information which to date has followed the mandate of the midwayers to disseminate the material slowly in the initial years, at least until there are enough responsible readers to rationally defend the revelation. Back in the ’60’s the book was presented to the producers of the movie “King of Kings,” but wisely they did not accept it, instead sent a note to the Culbertsons thanking them for the book. The prominent actor of the 1940’s Lou Ayres (an avid reader himself) was a friend of members of the Los Angeles group at the time of the groups inception in 1956 but did not, to our knowledge, expose other Hollywood personalities to the book. In the 1970’s there were five associate producers in the Los Angeles group (FUSLA) and one was even a Foundation Trustee (Hoite Caston), but again the time of mass appeal had not reached “critical mass” status, a status necessary for wide spread distribution. One producer was with the Carl Sagan “Nova” series, and although given a book Carl never developed an interest. Another member of the Los Angeles society married the successful television producer Norman Lear (All in the Family), and while he later produced a show that was eventually to work some of the Urantia material into it, the show met its demise after less than a season. The wife of Norman has a Urantia Web-site called Theo-Quest, and is still quite active in the movement.

The above is merely mentioned to give one the feeling that not too far off some individual or group will decide to go to the greater public with the teachings and then it might be off to the races. None of us can predict what’s around the corner, though we can certainly speculate. The slow growth movement is gradually gaining momentum, and with the advent if the internet things are due to move far more rapidly than in past years. Remember, Jesus started his ministry very slowly and eventually had over 5000 people attending his sermons, then suddenly in one month lost 99% of his following in Galilee alone - from 50,000 down to 500, primarily because he refused to display the miracles they were seeking. So be not dismayed when dissenters drop out of the group or even give up on the revelation - not everyone is ready to be bombarded with these truths. Those that gave up on Jesus were the losers - truth was not that important. Hold to your convictions and help spread the revelation for the “King” is coming back, we just don’t know when.

I sometimes think that if I were a visitor from another world, were this world not so tragically backward, I would be hard pressed not to regard it as an amusement theme park. One could go from country to country and just watch the wars and criminal activities taking place. This is a world where the powerful are still exploiting the powerless, but such is life in an evolutionary age at a certain time in history. We do, however, have a world of charitable care givers, in contradistinction to those who only take, never giving in return - the social parasites whose motto is grab what you can as fast as you can; yet it is a common peculiarity that even in this human parasitic community most are host to a morally directive entity that lies within their own minds, but unfortunately these wayward brothers seem quite indifferent to Its reality. If they only knew what dwelt within their human mind. Time in on the side of righteousness.

OUR PURPOSE
“The purpose of cosmic evolution is to achieve unity of personality through increasing spirit dominance, volitional response to the teaching and leading of the Thought Adjuster. Personality, both human and superhuman, is characterized by an inherent cosmic quality which may be called ‘the evolution of dominance,’ the expansion of the control of both itself and its environment.” (Pg. 1229)

“An ascending onetime human personality passes through two great phases of increasing volitional dominance over the self and in the universe:

1. The prefinaliter or God-seeking experience…

2. The postfinaliter or God-revealing experience…

Descending personalities attain analogous experiences through their various universe adventures as they seek for enlarged capacity for ascertaining and executing the divine wills of the Supreme, Ultimate, and Absolute Deities.” (Pg. 1229)

In reference to the above, one question that comes to mind is - when a onetime ascending mortal becomes admitted to the Corps of Finality and later becomes Trinity embraced, since he then works for the Trinity as a God revealing person as opposed to God seeking, is he then considered a member of the descending order? The Personality Register only lists them as Trinitized Sons. (Pg.336) In this new capacity they may be neither.

In keeping with the supreme purpose to eradicate ignorance from our spiritual life we must not give in to our baser thoughts by allowing suspicion, hate and intolerance to dominate our thinking, neither should we give in to holding grudges, getting even, preserving ego status, intentionally alienating others, etc., but rather displace these lower animal nature motives by yielding to those higher spiritual forces that lie dormant within all of us. Those divine values of love, mercy, and ministry are inherent within humanity, and if not heeded become useless and more of a terminator than germinator of our souls. They must come to an interplay within human consciousness to meaningfully contribute to soul development. In other words spiritual values must emerge from their dormancy. There exists a latent dormitory of values lying asleep in millions of our planetary brethren that will someday awake. And when awakened the collective rise in soul development will effectively change human life on the face of the earth - this is the beginning of collective spirit dominance within individual souls and is all that is necessary for the stabilization of the planet. This then becomes our prescription for peace. When true spiritual values dominate human consciousness the individual experiences “that peace which passes all understanding”, and if enough individuals experience that peace their collective souls are at rest; a state of contentment that arises only when one knows he is sincerely putting forth his best efforts to follow the inner dictates of God consciousness, as one might perceive that to be. True moral contentment is not conducive to strife.

Everyone makes mistakes (errors of life) and this is evident or we would have fused by now, therefore since none has reached perfection we are all on the same march to new spiritual heights, and being that our goal is to subjugate energy-matter to mind coordinated with spirit our purpose becomes one of spiritualizing our lives for the next stage of evolution - what God wants us to do next is a partial unknown, but we do know that whatever we do, if it enhances us spiritually we are carrying out His plan by actively contributing to the growth of His evolutionary manifestation - the Supreme Being. When we advance spiritually we are automatically contributing to the growth of the Supreme.

The Supreme is part of the Deity mechanism of the master universe - that part of the down-reach of the dual presence of Deity to the evolutional universe. All good put forth by sub-infinite creatures contributes to His growth, inclusive of the Creator Sons and the Ancients of Days. When the world begins to align itself with the more spiritual and more intelligent beings in God’s domain spiritual change becomes inevitable.

In summary, no one really knows what God’s intended purpose is but through the Urantia book the writing is clear that in this age, the second age of eternity, we are being prepared for the next age, the first outer space level. This coming third age, we are told, will be entirely antithetical to the current age and yet nothing like the first age. If it is different from the perfect age of Havona and its counterpart the imperfect evolutional age of the present, what can it possibly be? No one really knows except God and his confidents, but we do know it will be the place of our future dwelling - arriving there is our challenge for now, and to meet this challenge we have to be spiritually perfect. We have millions of years to do this. The spirit can be perfected in this age - what is never completely devoid of progress throughout eternity is that bestowal of the Infinite Spirit that keeps everything interacting - one’s own mind. It progresses as we experience life through eternity.

Conceptually we are infants in the universe - primary midwayers existed over 500,000 years ago, the Life Carriers way before the dinosaurs, the Divine Counselors before the organization of the universe. We essentially are pre-kindergarten. No wonder no one wants to talk to us. Think how Jesus might have felt when the Sanhedrin wanted to tell him what to do - how to behave and conform. I think we had better start behaving more like Jesus and start conforming to the Divine pattern if we want to improve our spiritual standing in the universe community. Infants incidentally, can do something even if they can’t change their own diapers - they can learn. I was an idiot before I got into the Urantia book, now I’m just a slightly smarter idiot - plenty of room for progress. Our purpose is to achieve unity of personality through increasing spirit dominance. If it’s God’s will, we had better do something about it. No one knows what God’s purpose is other than to provide an eternal existence!
